Megadeth - Victory

by Irene-Ketikidi | 29 January 2011

“Victory” is the last track from Megadeth’s 1994 album Youthanasia and a killer song by the way- one of my personal favourites! Check it out for some really cool riffs and of course the excellent trade-off solos between Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman.

By learning to play this song you will improve your:

  • time keeping when playing riffs with continuous downstrokes
  • coordination between palm muting and alternate picking
  • roll-tip technique
  • legato and tapping
  • fretboard knowledge on extended pentatonic shapes
  • wide rock vibrato

Everything is demonstrated in 13 slow videos and, except for the main backing track, I've made 8 more different speed/section backing tracks for you! You've also got the tab in two files (guitar pro and pdf) as well as the full lesson description. I hope you enjoy the lesson and have fun playing the song!
