Gary Moore - Still Got the Blues - 1st solo

by Josep-Suller | 20 February 2014

Welcome to this lesson, where we'll be seeing how to play as accurately as possible the solo that the great Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore played in his song "Still got the blues". This free lesson specifically deals with the first solo of the song.

This first solo has been divided into 3 sections and we'll be seeing how to play each of them in slow speed. These sections are indicated in the solo tab, so that you can locate them very easily.

Most of this solo, both in the main melody and in the rest of the solo uses the A minor pentatonic scale (A, C, D, E, G) and the A natural minor scale (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, A).

With this fantastic solo, you will learn some really useful melodic phrasing that will surely inspire you in your own playing.

Remember that the main solo of this song (the fantastic 2 minute solo that Gary played at the end of the song) is also available as a full lesson. You can check it out here:
