In this lesson we are going to develop what we learned in the “Root Shapes & Major Chords” lesson. Youʼll see here that pentatonics, arpeggios and scales are all based around those Root Shapes, which makes it easy to understand and visualize the fretboard.

I would like to make it clear that what we are doing here is developing a system to understand the fretboard. There is no musical theory application or anything yet. That will follow after we have worked on the other shapes that are found within a harmonized scale.

In the next lesson, weʼll discuss how we can expand into Minor Chords, Pentatonics, Arpeggios & Scales.

Good Luck!
Paul.
