Angels Don't Kill - Children of Bodom - Solo

Welcome to this Children of Bodom lesson!

This is one of my favorite solos from Alexi Laiho for its musicality and proper use of techniques, that’s why I chose to show it to you as a lesson.

I love the way Alexi mixes bends in the right places with scalar sections taking you on a journey that lasts around 30 seconds,

As you might have recognized, a lot of pentatonic material is used here. I don’t have anything against using that, as long as it’s used in an original way and it suits the song.

You can also see that he adds to the normal pentatonic scale a few embellishment notes such as the 2nd and blue note (aug 5th)
